The Golf and Tourism Forum, part of the 2010 Bo'ao International Tourism Forum, kicked off Tuesday morning in Haikou, Hainan Province.

The forum, which gathered more than 500 industry players and experts, will discuss Hainan's position in its golf tourism development, the development of golf in the course of urbanization, and the development and prospects of the global golf industry.

Key speakers include Greg Norman, president of Great White Shark Enterprises, and Peter Walton, CEO of Golf Tour Operators.

Twelve guests, including former vice chairman of the Chinese Olympic Committee, He Huixian, director of the Asia-Pacific department of the World Tourism Organization, Xu Jing, and film director Feng Xiaogang, will hold discussions on two topics, Golf and Tourism Industry and Golf Tourism and Lifestyle.

A declaration for the golf industry, the Haikou Declaration, is expected today.
