Tanzania, the First “New Friend” from Africa came to CAEXPO

The Specially Invited Partner Mechanism, which was initially set up in 2014, is the globally-oriented innovative one based on the cooperation between China and ASEAN (10+1) in the CAEXPO. Thanks to the effect extension of the platform to the African continent, which was established by the CAEXPO to serve the "Belt and Road" construction, Tanzania is the first African country to be the specially partner of the CAEXPO.

The CAEXPO will provide Tanzania with a dedicated zone in the "Belt and Road" international exhibition area in Hall B1. Tanzania will use 20 merchandise booths to highlight Zanzibar's coffee, tea, honey, spices and other products, as well as to showcase the African exotic tour scenery and folk culture in Tanzania. In addition, the Tanzanian authority will act as a go-betweener in the professional trade negotiation and investment services for Tanzania exhibitors, and organize national promotion conferences and merchandise display activities.

Located on the east coast of Africa, Tanzania covers an area of more than 900,000 square kilometers and is rich in natural resources. It has a reputation of "Silver and Gold Everywhere". With abundant light, heat and land resources, Tanzania is a place suitable for planting of a variety of crops. The main economic crops include coffee, cotton, tea, tobacco and cashew nuts. In addition, Tanzania is one of the main countries in Africa to attract mining investment due to its attractive geological environment. Tanzania is rich in mineral resources and has a wide range of minerals including gold, diamonds, basic metals, precious stones and industrial minerals. It is the third largest gold producer in Africa ranking only after South Africa and Ghana.

In 2017, the bilateral trade volume between China and Tanzania reached US$3.452 billion. China has become Tanzania"s largest trading partner, largest engineering contractor and major source of investment. It is reported that Tanzania is welcoming and open to foreign investment, and the investment fields are almost unlimited. The most favorable areas include agriculture and agriculture-based industry, mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, tourism, transportation, aviation, communications, financial and insurance services, etc.
