China, ASEAN to strengthen mining cooperation

The 2019 China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum & Exhibition will be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Nov 13 to 17, with about 1,100 guests from China, ASEAN countries, and BRI countries discussing mutual beneficial cooperation in the mining industry.

As one of the important activities under the framework of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), the mining cooperation forum has been successfully held for nine consecutive sessions since 2010. It has made great contributions to promoting the economic recovery and economic development of China and ASEAN countries.

According to Xie Jinyu, deputy director of the Guangxi Natural Resources Department, the forum has received more than 8,700 delegates and more than 3,000 participating companies in the past nine years. More than 1,320 projects have been introduced and negotiated, with 128 projects being signed. The contracted amount has been about 57.6 billion yuan ($8.11 billion).

The forum has developed into the highest-level and largest international mining event held annually by China and ASEAN countries, which strongly promotes the cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN countries in mining investments, technology promotion, energy conservation and emission reduction, the comprehensive utilization of resources, as well as personnel training.

This year's forum will include more than 10 important activities, as well as three special promotion meetings of Indonesia, Morocco, and Italy. In addition, this year's forum will also invite officials from government departments along the Belt and Road countries, such as those in Africa and Europe.
