The ASEAN Tourism Development Report (2018-2019), the first ASEAN tourism bluebook in China, was officially issued at the 2nd "One Belt One Road One Tourism" International Conference on Oct 14, which was held in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

China and ASEAN have become important tourism partners. According to statistics, there were more than 50 million personnel exchanges between the two sides in 2018, as well as more than 3,800 flights a week between the two places. China is the largest source country of tourists in the ASEAN countries and ASEAN is also one of the favorite destinations for Chinese tourists.

The ASEAN tourism bluebook was co-edited by experts of the ASEAN Tourism Research Center of China Tourism Academy and Guilin Tourism College. Based on the statistics of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the ASEAN Secretariat, and ASEAN countries, as well as research results from domestic and foreign experts and scholars, the bluebook detailed the status  of tourism development in ASEAN countries from 2018 to 2019 through literature review, data analysis, and case studies.

The bluebook covers topics like tourism sustainable development research, tourism resources, tourism culture, new tourism business models, tourism security, hotel development, cruise tourism, and China-ASEAN tourism cooperation.

It also focuses on the development of ASEAN tourism and explores targeted solutions. It aims to analyze the current status and trends of tourism development in ASEAN countries from 2018 to 2019, providing useful reference for academics and people in the tourism industry.
