The east channel expansion project of Qinzhou Port, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region started construction on Oct 31, accelerating the construction of the international gateway port for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in West China.

Qinzhou Port is a key node for the sea-rail combined transport of the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor. After the cargo ships from foreign countries like Singapore are berthed here, the goods will enter the hinterland of China along the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The railway logistics from Southwest China's Lanzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang, and Kunming will also be transferred to the sea through Qinzhou Port.

The construction of Qinzhou Port is a key project for the construction of the international gateway port of the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The project has a total length of 25.796 kilometers and is being constructed in two phases. The first phase of the project was completed in June 2019, and the second phase is expected to be completed in June 2021.

After completion, Qinzhou Port will meet the conditions for 200,000-metric ton large container ships to enter and exit the Beibu Gulf ports, which is of great significance for enhancing the comprehensive service capacity and international competitiveness of the Beibu Gulf ports.
