Taking the white magnolia flower, Shanghai's city flower, as the carrier, the CMG documentary vividly explains Shanghai's distinctive character of "openness, innovation, and inclusiveness" and praises the city spirit of "wise, open-minded and modest."

The light show themed "The City of Magnolia" takes magnolia blossoms as the cue, and was shown on the Shanghai Customs House, Oriental Pearl Tower, National Exhibition and Convention Center, and other Shanghai landmarks, depicting the development and changes of Shanghai in the past 70 years.

The light show will continue during the China International Import Expo.

On the day of the event, many Shanghai artists who have lived and worked in the Xuhui district for decades came to the light show in the West Bund Media Port. These artists, who have witnessed the city's development, also gave advice and suggestions for developing the Yangtze River Delta Regional Bureau and the Shanghai Central Bureau of CMG and expressed their expectations and blessings for the Shanghai West Bund Media Port.
