Beijing’s Temple of Heaven, a well-known attraction also referred to as Tiantan, issued its first solar term calendar on Wednesday to mark the 600th anniversary of the ancient imperial complex of religious buildings.
Centering on the propriety and music culture of the Temple of Heaven and running through China’s traditional 24 solar terms, the calendar well presents the traditions of China in a complete and systematic manner.
The calendar includes delicately designed pictures of the 24 solar terms, and each one of the pictures carries the philosophy of human-nature harmony, perfectly combining together the architectures and plants of Tiantan with the climate of each solar term, introduced Zhao Zhonghua, director of the managing department of the Temple of Heaven Park.
A QR code is printed on the back cover of the calendar, and an H5 page showing the prayer ceremony will be presented on the phones after the users scan it. Besides, according to Zhao, if the users scan the code on the exact day of each solar term, there will be different audio materials introducing corresponding solar terms.
