The Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recently announced that Hechi has officially taken over the flag of the 13th Guangxi Garden and Horticulture Expo from Fangchenggang, which hosted the 12th event.

The construction of the park for the expo started near Hechi's Jinshan Lake in Yizhou district on Dec 6, and is expected to finish by the end of 2020.

The expo, hosted by the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is held annually in the 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi in turn.

The event has built a beautiful comprehensive park of more than 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) for each host city. Guangxi's per capita park green land area increased from 8.43 square meters in 2010 to 12.69 sq m in 2018, and ranks 16th in China.
