17th China-ASEAN Expo to kick off in September

The 17th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) will be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Sept 18 to 21, 2020. This year's edition will have a focus on innovation and cooperation, while Laos will be the Country of Honor.

According to the announcement of the CAEXPO Secretariat, the expo will closely follow the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area upgrade protocol and focus on digital economy cooperation, with the goal of leading the high-quality development of the digital economy and the new generation of information technology to promote industrial transformation and upgrading.

The expo will also pay more attention to the scientific and technological content, as well as the added value of exhibits. It will strengthen international cooperation in service trade, accelerate the upgrading of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation, as well as promote deep integration between the two sides in the industrial chain, supply chain, and value chain.

Covering an exhibition area of 104,000 square meters, this year's expo has five major themes of commodity trade, investment cooperation, advanced technology, service trade, and the "City of Charm." In addition, a set of professional exhibitions in the fields of finance, tourism, forest and wood products, as well as animation games will be held.

In addition, the CAEXPO Secretariat will continue to organize overseas exhibitions in ASEAN countries this year, including the 2020 China-ASEAN Expo Laos Exhibition that will be held from May 14 to 16, the 2020 China-ASEAN Expo Vietnam Electromechanical Exhibition that will be held in July, and the 2020 China-Burma Import and Export Products Exhibition that will be held in November.

CAEXPO is an international economic and trade event co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the economic and trade government authorities of the 10 ASEAN countries, as well as the CAEXPO Secretariat. It is organized by the Guangxi government every year. It has become a national key exhibition that plays an important role in promoting China-ASEAN cooperation, as well as serving the construction of the Belt and Road.
