The Guilin Marathon was officially upgraded to a Bronze Label Road Race by World Athletics, making it the first bronze-label event in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. In addition, it was announced that the 2020 Guilin Marathon will be held on Nov 15 and the registration for it is expected to start around July this year.

The Guilin Marathon was formally established in 2016. During the four years of development, the scale of participation has continuously expanded, the service level has continuously improved, the support capability has been significantly enhanced, and the competition's reputation has greatly increased.

The marathon has attracted numerous runners at home and abroad with its beautiful views, delicious rice noodles, and free tickets to scenic spots. It is expected that in 2020, the race will continue to be divided into three events: a marathon, a half marathon, and a mini marathon, with an expected total participation of 30,000 people.
