In order to promote the construction of a western Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the Nanning area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Nanning, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, issued the Implementation Plan for the Construction of Nanning National Logistics Hub (2020-2025) to build a modern logistics operation system in the next five years.

The plan will be promoted in stages, making Nanning a national logistics hub that connects the Beibu Gulf logistics network, solving the logistics bottleneck in border areas of Southwest China, unblocking the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, as well as linking gateways of the Belt and Road.

According to the implementation plan, Nanning will focus on building 81 projects in seven categories, including logistics channels, logistics hubs, large-scale logistics parks, trade circulation, distribution centers, warehousing, and information platforms, with a total investment of about 400 billion yuan ($56.55 billion).

It is expected that Nanning will be basically built into a land-port national logistics hub in 2020, with the annual cargo throughput of core projects reaching more than 1 million tons. It will be fully built into a national logistics hub with the annual cargo throughput of core projects exceeding 12 million tons by 2025.

The implementation plan clarified that Nanning will accelerate the construction of various key projects, such as railways, highways, air passages, shipping lanes, and logistics channels. It also noted that the city will actively cultivate and introduce leading logistics enterprises and express delivery enterprises by giving priority to project land use and financial support.

In addition, Nanning will build a cold chain logistics system at the city, county, and township levels, promoting cold chain logistics infrastructure, such as pre-cooling, storage, and preservation, as well as cold chain processing. It will also build cold chain logistics parks in large-scale wholesale markets to help local high-quality products go global through cold chain logistics.
