Guangxi to issue policies for further reform

Guangxi will continue to promote reform and opening-up with plans to introduce 133 new reform measures, officials announced at a press conference held by the Reform Committee Office of the Guangxi Party Committee on April 20.

The measures include 54 key reform tasks and 79 general reform tasks.

Among them, 15 items on the reform of the open cooperation system focuses on the construction of Fangchenggang International Medical Open Pilot Zone, the promotion of cross-border trade facilitation in the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the acceleration of the development of border economic cooperation zones, and the further use of foreign investment.

In terms of economic system reform, Guangxi will formulate 28 reform measures focusing on improving the market-oriented allocation of factors, promoting the in-depth integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, as well as undertaking industrial transfers of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Seven measures will be issued for the reform of the ecological civilization system, covering the establishment of a modern environmental governance system and the protection of the ecological water volume of important rivers in Guangxi.

The 18 reform measures in the field of governance and the legal system focuses on strengthening the construction of a government under the rule of law, establishing a life-long accountability system for major decision-making, and promoting the modernization of social governance.

A total of 17 measures in the reform of the social system focuses on the improvement of public health emergency management systems, deepening the reform of the medical security system, reducing the burden on teachers in primary and secondary schools, as well as strengthening labor education in universities and schools.

In addition, 12 reform measures stress supporting the high-quality development of the cultural industry.
