The China (Guangxi)-Vietnam Online Trade Fair jointly organized by the Guangxi Department of Commerce and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency was launched on April 21, running until April 24.

The trade fair is being conducted through online video, with a total of 129 Chinese and Vietnamese companies participating.

More than 70 varieties of products in six categories, spanning nuts, fruit, vegetables, aquatic products, food, and beverages, are being showcased for sale. In addition, seven special promotion meetings and more than 150 "one-to-one" online negotiations will be organized. The current purchase amount of the companies of both countries have reached 610 million yuan ($86.08 million).

Dozens of agricultural products and food processing trade companies from Vietnam have promoted tea, coffee, fruit, and other products to meet the needs of Chinese companies and consumers.

Last year, the Guangxi Department of Commerce signed a memorandum of trade cooperation development with 10 provinces in northern Vietnam, which has played an active role in deepening economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam, especially trade in fruit and agricultural products.

The online trade fair is an innovative measure to deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation, while continuing both countries' joint prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic efforts.

Guangxi plans to hold another online trade fair with Vietnam in late May to further help enterprises open up their markets and overcome difficulties together.
