The first season of Reunion: The Sound of the Providence, a 32-episode TV series starring Zhu Yilong, Mao Xiaotong and Chen Minghao, was broadcast on streaming sites Youku and iQiyi starting July 15.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Xu Lei, an online writer also known as Nanpaisanshu, the show has scored 8.2 out of 10 on popular review platform Douban from more than 130,000 audience members.

Since there are many imaginative scenes in the series, the crew invested tremendous efforts into special effects.

As a continuation of popular IP The Graver Robbers' Chronicles, a fantasy which depicts protagonists’ adventures in ancient tombs, the show continues to tell stories of Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling and Fats.

According to Chen, the actor who plays the role of Fats, he is impressed by the friendship between the three protagonists. “We spent half a year shooting this series and bonding with each other. We got on well both in and out of the show.”
