The Beibu Gulf Data Exchange Center was established in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Aug 11 to promote the construction of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor and boost data exchanges between the two parties.

Lu Dongliang, president of China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co, noted that the center is an international data resource transaction service organization and a data services transaction platform. It is a hub for gathering, processing, using, and trading various data products in China and ASEAN regions.

The Beibu Gulf Data Exchange Center will provide one-stop services for upstream and downstream companies on the platform, including data collection, storage, calculation, cleaning, analysis, consulting, display, and application.

It provides in-depth matching services, such as coverage information verification, marketing, precision services, financial services, and smart manufacturing, with a profit model comprised of transaction commissions, authorization fees, resource usage fees, customized product development fees, and data deep processing service fees.

Lu also said that the center will work with outstanding domestic and foreign partners to explore government data transaction models and cross-border data circulation mechanisms, building a data product transaction service organization leading in the China-ASEAN region in terms of transaction volume and categories of data products.

Xi Yang, director of the Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau, expressed his hope that the center can play a leading role in the aspects of data, technology, talents, and ecology, as well as promote the deep integration of data transactions with the economic and social fields.
