The Guangxi Quality Products (Hong Kong) Online Exhibition was held on Aug 27 through video conferences in both Nanning and Hong Kong, better helping Guangxi companies in industries like food, jewelry, electronics, and light industry expand their global markets.

Guangxi and Hong Kong have built a solid foundation in economic and trade cooperation as the two places enjoy excellent industrial structure complementarity. Hong Kong has been Guangxi's largest source of foreign capital and its second largest trade partner for years.

A total of 100 outstanding foreign trade companies or domestic trade enterprises with export potential from Guangxi were selected by the Guangxi Commerce Department and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to be showcased on HKTDC's online official website platform for free for one year to attract global purchasers. HKTDC will also provide additional free services spanning promotion, authentication, and marketing.

As a promotion agency for economic and trade activities possessing more than 2 million high-quality active registered purchasers and 130,000 supplier members from around the world, HKTDC has been playing an active part in boosting communications and cooperation in finance and trade between Guangxi and Hong Kong, becoming an important platform for Guangxi products to explore global markets.

Guangxi has been organizing companies to participate in HKTDC's Food Expo since 2015, bringing a number of famous and distinctive Guangxi products to global markets, such as Liubao tea, jasmine tea, snail noodles, and Guilin rice noodles.

Zhou Hongbo, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, noted that he hopes that Hong Kong's professional advantages in areas spanning financial innovation, investment management, trade supervision, as well as port and shipping logistics can be integrated with Guangzhou's advantages in areas like location, policies, resources, and markets to jointly bolster the construction of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Zhou added that Guangxi will promote and support Hong Kong micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to develop in Guangxi. It will also deepen cooperation with Hong Kong's shipping service companies in port logistics construction, expanding their markets in ASEAN, as well as countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road.
