A total of 264 products from 232 Guangxi companies entered the Hong Kong market in 2020 through cooperation with the Hong Kong Standards and Testing Center, officials from the Guangxi Market Supervision Bureau said on Feb 2.
The added value of these products reached 2.69 billion yuan ($416.5 million), as they were exported to more than 30 countries and regions from Hong Kong.
Quality authentication is of vital importance in developing the market economy and foreign trade.
Guangxi has been building a pilot demonstration base in Nanning on Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) - namely a cluster of high-tech inspection, testing and certification services between China and ASEAN.
Mutual recognition has been achieved between the inspection and testing data and laboratory results from both Guangxi and Hong Kong.
In addition, Guangxi has set up special funds to support local companies to acquire Hong Kong high-end quality certification every year, and has cooperated with Hong Kong organizations and companies to help Guangxi companies expand their international markets.
