The 6000th train to run along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in 2021 set out from Qinzhou Port East Station on Dec 28, carrying 2,750 metric tons of cargo.
The total number of trains running on the land-sea trade corridor has exceeded 14,000 since the corridor was opened in April 2017, serving 90 destinations in 49 cities nationwide. Cargo along the corridor has access to over 300 ports in more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
The corridor has dispatched over 700,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) since 2017, and the number of trains running along the corridor has grown by a factor of 33, with 178 trains running in its first year of operation.
The land-sea trade corridor has become the most convenient means of cargo transport in West China. The cargo loading time for a train with 50 coaches has been cut to around 4.5 hours on average, effectively improving transport efficiency.
