A China-Europe freight train loaded with Chinese New Year goods on Tuesday left Dalang Railway Station in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province for Odessa, Ukraine.
This is the first China-Europe freight train loaded with Chinese New Year goods launched by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2022.
Carrying 50 containers of commodities including household appliances, communication devices, clothes and daily-use items, the train will pass through Erenhot Port in north China's Inner Mongolia and arrive in Odessa after about 16 days. Here, the goods will be distributed to the local market.
The Chinese New Year goods in recent years have gained a larger foreign market. Except for anti-pandemic products, the demand from Guangdong enterprises to transport locally made household appliances is still increasing as the Spring Festival draws near, according to the head of an international logistics company in Guangdong.
"We've been improving the loading plan and adjusting loading capacity in a more effective way to transport the Guangdong-made Chinese New Year products to countries along the Belt and Road Initiative," said Zhou Jian, head of Dalang Railway Station."We hope foreign friends and overseas Chinese can enjoy Chinese New Year," Zhou added.
It is estimated that six China-Europe freight trains will be launched by Greater Bay Area before Spring Festival. Goods including daily-use, digital, and anti-pandemic products will be transported to Russia, Germany and other localities.
