China Eastern Airlines on Sunday put its Boeing 737-800 jetliners back in use for commercial flights after nearly one month's grounding the aircraft following a fatal crash on March 21.
Data from Umetrip showed China Eastern flight MU5843, operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, took off from Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan Province at around 10am to Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province on Sunday. The plane flew back to Kunming in the afternoon.
The airline said it has conducted systematic tests, structural checkups and verified airworthiness data for each of the aircraft as an emergency measure to ensure safety.
On March 21, flight MU5735, operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, crashed in the mountains of South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and killed 123 passengers and nine crew members.
