Malaysia will further promote its export capacity to bolster its reputation as a strong cooperation partner in trade, investment, and tourism, said Azlimi Zakaria, consul-general of Malaysia in Nanning, on Aug 26.

A press conference on the Country of Honor of the upcoming 19th China-ASEAN Expo was held that day. A total of 34 Malaysian enterprises are expected to showcase their products and services during CAEXPO, which will be held from Sept 16 to 19, covering areas like food and drinks, petroleum and gas, as well as health preservation and living services.

Zakaria said that a series of events will be held, such as trade matchmaking meetings, livestreams, and performances, to boost exchanges with China. Celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the construction of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park will be held to help China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park attract more investment projects.

The envoy noted that Malaysian leaders are likely to attend the event despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

China and Malaysia have seen tighter economic and trade cooperation in recent years. China has been Malaysia's largest trade cooperation partner for 13 consecutive years and Malaysia is currently China's second largest trade partner in ASEAN.
