In the burning hot summer, lychee branches are fully decked with weighty fruits. Lingshan County of Guangxi has witnessed a bountiful harvest season of lychees. Now, the Lingshan Lychees are starting to appear on the market, ushering in a new season of lychee sales.

Lingshan County is renowned as the "Hometown of Lychees in China", with its ancient history of lychee planting and the longevity of lychee culture. In Dengjia Village, Xinxu Town, a millennium-old ancient Xiangli tree has been around for 1,520 years. By now, it is the oldest and the only remaining Lingshan Xiangli seed tree of its age in China. Lingshan County boasts a lychee planting area of 419,300 mu and is the second largest lychee planting county in China. Its lychee planting area and yield rank first in Guangxi.

In this abundant harvest season, Lingshan Lychees will reach a total yield of over 170,000 tons. From early May to mid-July, lychee varieties such as Sanyuehong, Baitangying, Feizixiao, Heiye, Dazao, Lingshan Xiangli, Guiwei, Nuomici  and seedless lychees would appear on the market one after another.

Lingshan County also features local specialties including lychee wine, lychee honey, lychee cakes, dried lychee, lychee vinegar, etc. During the lychee picking period, a series of tourism festivals of lychee culture and exhibition and sales activities of agricultural products are also held in Lingshan County.
