Vietnam provides assistance for coronavirus control in Guangxi

Zhou Tong, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, received a batch of coronavirus prevention and control supplies at Youyi Port on Feb 3. The supplies were donated by Lang Son province, Vietnam.

The materials donated to Guangxi include 265,000 medical masks, 504 bottles of disinfectant alcohol, 1,000 sets of disposable medical protective clothing and 10,000 sets of medical gloves.

Zhou introduced a set of measures taken by Guangxi in response to the new coronavirus outbreak, and said that the kind donations reflect the close relationship between China and Vietnam, as well as between Guangxi and Lang Son. He also expressed his hope that the two sides could further strengthen cooperation in border management in order to prevent cross-border infectious diseases and maintain harmony in border areas.

Trinh Tuyet Mai, director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Lang Son, said that the province is willing to strengthen cooperation with Guangxi in a bid to jointly deal with the spread of the epidemic.
