China has lodged stern representations with Australia over its cancelling of two cooperation deals between its state of Victoria and China under the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Thursday.
China reserves the right to make a firm response, Wang said, urging Australia to rectify its actions.
Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne announced on Wednesday night that the BRI deal that Victoria state signed with China has been cancelled under the Commonwealth's new foreign veto laws.
