In the first quarter of this year, Guigang in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region strived to improve its economy and ensure the sustainable development of its society through a batch of key initiatives.

The city started and completed 170 major projects with a total investment of 51.5 billion yuan ($8.06 billion), covering projects such as Guigang Medical Park, Zhiguang Green Home Furnishing Industrial Cluster, and Guiping Xishanquan International Health Tourism and Cultural Complex.

The city has ensured the stable supply of spring agricultural production materials such as seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides and unblocked transportation channels in advance. It has also guaranteed the demand for cultivation and planting. Guigang has introduced a number of measures to advance epidemic prevention and control as well as the steady growth of the business economy. It has organized a series of activities such as the online New Year's Day Festival, Hotpot Delivery and New Year's Eve Dinner Package. Consumption vouchers were issued to nonlocal employees of wholesale and retail catering enterprises above designated size who stayed in Guigang for this year's Spring Festival, driving consumption of more than 8 million yuan.

Guigang encourages local enterprises to expand foreign trade and guides them in declaring relevant project funds. The city has done a solid job to ensure the employment of its residents. Since the beginning of this year, 25 online and offline job fairs have been organized and 987 companies have participated, offering 74,165 positions and resulting in 10,479 people reaching intentions.
