China-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park has started the construction of 13 major projects with an overall investment of around 6 billion yuan ($928 million) by the end of August, local media outlets reported on Sept 24.

As a logistics flagship project under the cooperation of China and Singapore, the China-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park is the biggest one of its kind invested by Singapore on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Autonomous region and municipal governments have offered great support for the development of the logistics park in recent years, launching preferential policies in areas spanning finance, taxation and business attraction to create an efficient and convenient business environment.

The industrial park, to be built in three phases at a cost of more than 10 billion yuan, is expected to finish construction in 2025 and become a comprehensive logistics park featuring functions such as production, warehouse, transportation, exhibition, trade and finance.

The construction for the China-ASEAN Merchandise Exchange in the logistics park is now accelerating, which is designed to be a one-stop platform for online and on-site commerce and trade for West China and ASEAN.

"The first phase of the exchange will build exhibition pavilions such as the ones for national pavilions for China, 10 ASEAN countries, Guangxi and one featuring distinctive halal food," said Zhao Haiyan, vice president of Singapore-Guangxi Integrated Development, which operates the logistics park.
