A delegation of nearly 30 foreign experts from 11 countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Thailand and Vietnam was invited to tour Laibin's Jinxiu Yao autonomous county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Oct 16 to 17.
The tour, which was held by the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Jinxiu Yao autonomous county, enabled foreign experts to learn more about local achievements in rural revitalization.
Local landmarks such as the Jinxiu candlenut industrial park, the Yao ethnic medicine healthcare center, and a museum showcasing distinctive Yao ethnic culture were included in the tour.
Gong Zhengzheng, deputy mayor of Laibin, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and noted that Laibin has basically formed an industrial pattern featuring the coordinated development of traditional industries such as metallurgy and electric power production and emerging industries, which include electronic information, advanced manufacturing, silk textiles and clothing and forestry product processing.
Yao Zuofang, an official from the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that the event in Jinxiu is the first of its kind to take foreign experts outside cities to rural areas in Guangxi arranged by the department.
A seminar was also held during the event, discussing pressing issues such as environmental diversity, ethnic cultural inheritance and the development of Yao ethnic medicine.
