The transformation of turning Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region into a world-class tourism city and building Guangxi into a world-class tourism destination will be further accelerated, officials announced at the 2021 Guangxi Culture and Tourism Development Conference on Oct 26.
Guangxi enjoys a unique geographical location and abundant natural resources. Officials noted that a batch of major projects will be constructed to establish a host of world-class and national tourist attractions and resorts.
Guilin city is expected to lead the region in developing the tourism industry by applying the strictest ecological protection mechanisms to protect the Lijiang River, which will integrate the splendid natural scenery with the urban landscape.
The city will also make full use of its cultural resources and promote red tourism resources to attract more tourists from both home and abroad. On top of that, large-scale consumption business circles will be formed to expand tourism consumption scale.
