Guangxi delegation's trade volume at the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo in Shanghai is estimated to increase by over 5 percent year on year, Yang Chunting, the director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said on Nov 6.

A total of 1,386 Guangxi companies registered online for the fourth CIIE, which runs from Nov 5 to 10. They are expected to lure cooperation projects in sectors spanning the exploitation and utilization of mineral resources, agriculture, construction machinery, pharmaceuticals and papermaking.

Yang added that this year's event has a larger scale than previous ones, which brings in more opportunities for Guangxi. Guangxi's continuous efforts to opening-up have been exemplified with 13 major projects from the region having all been signed.

The Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has also set up a comprehensive exhibition hall showcasing Guangxi's charm at the fourth CIIE. Local distinctive products such as Liuzhou river snail rice noodles, tea and fruits are on display.

A promotion conference for China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone was held during the event, which established an excellent platform for the Guangxi Free Trade Zone to attract more investment from transnational companies and other prestigious companies. Preliminary cooperation intentions have been achieved with companies such as GLP and Huayi Group in areas such as manufacturing, logistics and new energy.

Yang added that Guangxi will make full use of the fourth CIIE to attract more resources such as capital, talent, technology and data.
