The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region museum reopened on Nov 29, four years after of its closure for renovation and expansion purposes. In addition to its reopening, the museum has also been rated as a national 4A-grade scenic area.

After renovation and expansion, the floorage of the museum was increased to nearly twice of its original size. It now measures at to 33,262.11 square meters. Its exhibition area was expanded to 10,000 sq m from its previous 4,000 sq m, allowing the area to hold more than 3,000 exhibits instead of the previous 600.

The museum is divided into several exhibition areas. The indoor and outdoor leisure areas include digital information and management systems such as augmented reality maps, which provide a one-stop smart service for tourists.

Digital technology and light and shadow technology have been applied to create an immersive and interactive experience for visitors.

Advanced testing and analysis instruments, including scanning electron microscopes and micro infrared spectrometers, have been added to the museum to optimize the museum's conservation and restoration capacity of cultural relics.
