Nanning airport to resume more ASEAN flights

Nanning Wuxu International Airport has gradually resumed 11 international passenger flights every week to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh and Bangkok as of the end of 2022, airport officials announced on Jan 1.

The airport is scheduled to resume the operation of more flights to capital and major cities of ASEAN countries such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and Manila, the Philippines, in 2023.

The airport opened seven new international cargo flights in 2022 and put more aircrafts on eight air routes. As of now, the airport has opened more than 16 cargo transportation routes to ASEAN countries and other South Asian countries.

It has ensured the takeoff and landing of 66,000 aircrafts in 2022 with a total passenger count of 6.66 million as well as processed 152,000 metric tons in cargo, among which, 70,000 tons were international cargo.

The airport's annual passenger count in 2022 moved one place forward among domestic airports to 27th place.

A total of 52 airlines operated 195 air routes in 2022 through Nanning airport, reaching 103 domestic cities and 18 international cities.

Airport officials noted that they will focus on construction to turn the airport into a gateway hub for ASEAN countries as well as an international cargo transportation hub. It will be establishing an improved air route network, and will improve its comprehensive services for the convenience of its passengers and business clients.
