Lan Tianli, acting chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, paid a visit to Liuzhou and Laibin from Dec 5 to 7, promoting high-quality industrial development.

Liuzhou, which is the largest industrial city in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is the only city in China clustering finished automobile manufacturing companies of the four major automobile groups in the country, namely FAW, Dongfeng Motor, SAIC, and Sinotruk.

Lan visited companies in Liuzhou, including the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) Baojun Base and the commercial vehicle base of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co (DFLZM), to get a close look at their current situation in areas spanning operation, research and development, as well as brand construction.

Lan expressed his hope that Liuzhou companies can explore pressing issues that may limit industrial development and devote more efforts to push forward innovations on the basis of the new dual circulation development paradigm, which has domestic circulation as the main driver, with domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other.

He also listened to an overview of Liuzhou's planning and construction of its railway port, as well as urged that Liuzhou make full use of its advantages in transportation and geographic location to become an important node for international logistics and to better serve the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

In the Liuzhou intelligent transportation industrial park, Lan experienced the operation of the light rail train. He said that Liuzhou should strive to establish a national leading manufacturing base for advanced rail transport equipment.

Laibin, one of the youngest cities in Guangxi, has gradually achieved remarkable outcomes in optimizing its business environment and developing emerging industries like green calcium carbonate, new materials, and new energy in recent years.

Lan spoke highly of Laibin's achievements in attracting investment, noting that the city should pay more attention to targeted investment attraction, help companies deal with problems in production and operation, as well as offer efficient and high-quality services for companies seeking development in Laibin.

In addition, he stressed during his visit to local companies that the city should further cultivate and strengthen emerging industries, while pushing forward the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
