As the Spring Festival approaches, the holiday spirit in Yizhou district, Hechi is becoming more pronounced. In Da'an village of Tongde town, villagers are busy preparing for the festival, engaging in traditional activities such as slaughtering pigs and making braised pork, blood sausage, and glutinous rice cakes.

"Slaughtering pigs is the highlight of our Spring Festival celebrations here, with every household participating," shared Wu Xiuyin, a villager from Da'an village.

In addition to traditional delicacies, making glutinous rice cakes is a Spring Festival staple, representing unity and love among neighbors.

"Every year during the Spring Festival, we organize these traditional activities and invite villagers to participate. Through the activities, we celebrate the arrival of spring, praying for favorable weather and a bountiful harvest in the new year," Pan Liwen, the Party secretary of Da'an village, explained.

"At the same time, we hope these traditions will continue to be passed down and can become part of our precious cultural heritage," Pan added.

These customs symbolize not only a reward for the hard work over the past year but also the villagers' earnest longing for a better life in the coming year, according to Pan.
