A freight train loaded with 152 China-made vehicles valued at 31.4 million yuan ($4.36 million) in 55 containers departed from Harbin international container center station in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province for Moscow in Russia via the Suifenhe port on Tuesday.

China-Europe freight train services have played a key role in China's car exports. The east route of the China-Europe freight line, including the Manzhouli, Suifenhe and Tongjiang ports has become China's main goods and vehicles transport channel, reaching 13 European countries and connecting more than 60 cities in China by the end of 2023.

According to the Harbin Bureau Group of China Railway Corp., in the first two months of this year, both the number of China-Europe freight trains and the cargo volume they transported from Harbin increased by more than 250 percent year-on-year, of which vehicles accounted for 52.4 percent, and the value of goods exceeded 250 million yuan ($35 million dollars ), hitting a record high in the same period.

The first vehicle transport service from Harbin provides a new pathway and sufficient capacity for automobile export to the north. It will continue to promote the steady increase of automobile exports through China-Europe freight trains and achieve normal operation.
