Guangxi is set to strengthen its promotion of the Cross-Straits Industrial Cooperation Zone and take multiple measures to attract more Taiwan businesspeople to invest in the zone, in order to form industrial clusters of Taiwan's competitive industries in Guangxi.
These comments were made by Liu Hongwu, deputy chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, at the fourth meeting of the Joint Conference on Promoting the Construction of the Cross-Straits Industrial Cooperation Zone, which was held in Nanning on June 7.
The Cross-Straits Industrial Cooperation Zone is the first of its kind in the nation. It is a platform for cross-Straits enterprises to join in the Belt and Road construction and is a carrier to undertake cross-Straits industrial transformation and upgrading.
Policies to support the development of the zone, especially those related to land, electricity prices, social insurance, finance, shipping and logistics, will be fully implemented to lower the cost of comprehensive business operations and attract more enterprises to relocate to the zone, said Liu.
He also noted that Guangxi will further improve policies aimed at helping young people and talents from Taiwan to start businesses and find employment in the region, provide them with multi-level and diversified services, and ensure they enjoy the same treatment as Guangxi residents in terms of working, entrepreneurship and living.
In addition, Guangxi will push forward its reforms to simplify the project approval process and enhance administrative efficiency, creating a favorable development environment for the zone.
