South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region registered that its import and export value in foreign trade reached 102.2 billion yuan ($14.8 billion) within the first two months of this year, an increase of 46.5 percent from the same period last year.

Among its major trading partners, Guangxi's foreign trade volume has increased with the member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the Middle East and Africa.

In the first two months of 2023, Guangxi's foreign trade with countries in the Middle East amounted to 9.38 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 175.7 percent. The region's import and export volume with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached 45.39 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 55.6 percent.

In addition, the export of Guangxi's characteristic and advantageous products also showed a strong surge. Among them, Guangxi automobile manufacturers have dug into overseas market demands, built and improved supporting service networks, thus stepping into the global market.

In January and February, Guangxi exported 2,487 new energy vehicles, which were valued at 230 million yuan, indicating a year-on-year increase of 199.9 times that of last year's figures.
