On May 17, Hechi's Yizhou district completed the city's first integrated 5G-Advanced sensing base station, marking the city's entry into the 5G-A new era. The base station achieves deep integration of communication and perception, with broad application prospects in areas such as low-altitude economy and vehicle-road coordination.

At the 5G-A network demonstration point located in Yizhou's citizens' cultural square, mobile network engineers conducted comprehensive performance evaluations using network testing equipment. These evaluations encompassed peak rate testing, scene-specific testing, and the assessment of smart applications. Employing a 5G-A technology-compatible smartphone for on-site testing, the network achieved a download speed exceeding 4G per second, signifying a substantial improvement compared to the 1G per second capability of standard 5G networks.

Drones flew in the pilot area, with nearby 5G-A base stations able to sense the trajectory of the drones in real-time. The collaborative platform displayed the aircraft's orientation, distance, speed, latitude, and longitude and reported the flight data.

Citizens had the opportunity to explore a range of applications supported by 5G-A technology, including high-definition VR live streaming, naked-eye 3D, cloud phones, cloud computers, and more. Feedback indicated an enhanced overall immersion and perception of the 3D images among users.
